HK 2009 - Day 2 - Lantau Island 02

After watching shows and shopping, we had vegetarian lunch at Po Lin Monastery (宝莲禅寺).
They're offering lunch packages. Just pay HKD60 per head and they will serve the lunch, u dun get to choose any dish.
Probably dun even need to as all the food taste so good.
Then, it's time to climb to visit Big Buddha (天坛大佛).
If you're able to find, you'll see Anita Mui's urn (no photography allowed).

HK 2009 - Day 2 - Lantau Island 01

Day 2...
Spent our time in Lantau Island (大屿山).
At first was thinking that might just spend few hours in Ngong Ping 360 (昂坪360).
In the end almost whole day was there, til closing at 6pm.
Very nice place and should include in your itinerary.

Morning started with typical HK breakfast at Char Chan Teng.
This is a famous shop in Jordan - Australia Dairy Co.
Pretty sure that you've heard a million times of how impatient Hongkie are in Char Chan Teng, so we took only breakfast set and that was the smartest decision - Fast and Precise (coz dun wan get scolded for being indecisive mar :p )

After that, we took about 45min train to get to Tung Chung MTR station.
Once alight, there's one big mall beside, which has all the branded outlet stores.
Nice place to shop (though I din buy anything).

Free computer classes for elderly

Cool!!!

Then we headed to Ngong Ping 360 ticket centre to collect our advance group booking tickets.
You can do it here before going HK (min 10 pax for group booking, maybe can negotiate i guess).
Our package was "Journey of Enlightenment", HKD159 less 10% become HKD143.10.
You can omit "Monkey's Tale Theatre", nothing special. Just a moral story about 3 monkeys.
"Walking with Buddha" was really nice, with great 3D effects and theatre.

Another tall building for you to count :)

HK 2009 - Day 1 - Kowloon

Woo... Finally it's done, after waiting for 7 months.
Overall, Hong Kong 2009 (16th Jan til 22nd Jan) was the greatest trip I had, and most fun too.
Yea... cause whole gang same same "sam pat" one, hehe...
Cousins... Cousin-in-law... Bro... Bro's GF
A total of 10 persons.
Big group?? Nah... not if all of you click well (like us loh).
Some more can enjoy group discount for some places, such as Madame Tussaud's and Ngong Ping.

This trip was also a memorable one because:

  1. First time I travel so far (besides East Malaysia, Singapore and Bangkok)

  2. First time celebrated my birthday overseas :)

  3. First time celebrated my birthday with someone else (Miko)

At first planned to tour HK, Shenzhen and Guangdong, but cancelled.
Due to CNY, worry there maybe people desperate for money, so...
Anyway, sure will have chance to "balik kampung" again.
Alternative plan was to spend more time in HK and Macau instead.

Here's a good advice...
PLEASE remember to spare money for accommodation and transportation.
Our experience was - almost running out of cash towards last 2nd day, hehe....
Luckily, we still have credit cards and advance cash, keke....
Damn paiseh leh

Ohya... Here's an Itinerary Planner, quite useful :) ENJOY!!!

Though blur, but I hv to show this piece of creation from Y.Ping in the plane
